The King’s Baton Relay will continue its journey through Wales on Day 2, visiting Carmarthenshire on a route that celebrates communities, sport and Welsh culture across Llanelli, Amman Valley and Carmarthen.
The day will begin at Canolfan Pentre Awel in Llanelli at 9:00am, before the Baton travels to Coleg Sir Gâr’s Weightlifting Academy at 10:15am (closed event). The Relay will then move on to Amman Valley Leisure Centre at 11:15am, offering local communities the opportunity to be part of this global celebration.
The Carmarthenshire leg will conclude in Carmarthen, beginning at the Leisure Centre in Johnstown at 12:30pm, followed by the Bro Myrddin Bowls Club at 1:15pm, before finishing at the outdoor velodrome at 1:40pm.
The King’s Baton Relay is a key milestone on the road to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, bringing together athletes, communities and nations across the Commonwealth.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure and Tourism, Cllr Hazel Evans, said: “Hosting the King’s Baton Relay is a significant moment for Carmarthenshire, placing the county firmly on the national stage as part of the Commonwealth Games. The Relay will travel through communities across the county, with all ten Commonwealth Games sports showcased at a range of local venues and residents directly involved as Baton Bearers. The Relay provides a powerful platform to inspire people to get involved in sport and physical activity, highlight the opportunities available locally and generate lasting benefits for communities across Carmarthenshire.”
