We are thrilled to announce that applications open on the 15th September for the second cohort of the Team Wales LeadHERship Programme, delivered in partnership with Cardiff Met University and RBC Brewin Dolphin.
In traditionally male-dominated sectors such as sport and business, women have historically been underrepresented in leadership roles. However, a significant shift is underway as more women are breaking barriers and stepping into influential positions. By bringing together the worlds of sport and business, this programme creates an invaluable space for women to share experiences, overcome challenges, and develop the essential skills, confidence, and knowledge to thrive in leadership.
Programme Objectives:
The initiative is designed to empower women in leadership roles across both the sport and business further:
- Fostering a sense of personal agency and confidence as women in the workplace.
- Raising awareness of gender dynamics and the everyday realities of their professional environments.
- Assisting participants in building alliances, support networks, and strategic partnerships.
- Developing the skills to deconstruct and reconstruct professional environments based on situational factors.
- Enhancing participants’ ability to navigate and thrive in gendered working environments.
Programme Structure:
The year-long programme will comprise four two-day residential sessions, covering the following key themes:
- The Social Landscape.
- Developing the Self and Developing Others.
- Constructing Contexts and Developing Agency.
- The Afterlife: Future Plans and Ongoing Development.
In addition, there will be online financial sessions with RBC Brewin Dolphin and Professor Rob Wilson from UCFB
Unique Features:
The programme will culminate in a dynamic series of interviews and panel discussions featuring inspirational leaders from both business and sport in each residential. These conversations will provide invaluable insights and inspiration for participants as they navigate their own leadership journeys.
You can nominate a woman from your organisation to be considered by our Nominations Panel for a place on this exciting programme.
Places are limited to 25 participants. The programme fee is £199 per participant. In addition, nominating organisations are asked to fund a one-night stay at Ty Newport during each of the four two-day residentials, at a cost of £75 per night.
The dates of the four residentials are:
- 28th-29th January 2027
- 22nd-23rd April 2027
- 1st-2nd July 2027
- 21st-22nd October 2027
Please note that the LeadHERship Programme is designed specifically for individuals at the early stages of their leadership journey. We ask that this is taken into consideration when making nominations. Please find below the programme briefing note and application form.
