Commonwealth Games Wales is proud to unveil the Team Wales House which will be the official home of Welsh celebrations, engagement and support at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The venue will be based at VEGA, the sky-high bar, restaurant and bowling alley at YOTEL Glasgow in the city centre, located directly opposite Glasgow Central Station—providing a convenient central line to all competition venues.
The Team Wales House will open in July next year to coincide with the 23rd Commonwealth Games which are held between July 23 and August 2 in 2026.
The Team Wales House at VEGA will offer a welcoming and accessible space for athletes, supporters, friends, partners and stakeholders to celebrate achievements, and showcase Welsh culture on the international stage. With a sky-high location and panoramic views over Glasgow and a lively, modern atmosphere, VEGA will provide the perfect setting for medal celebrations, athlete meet-and-greets, cultural events, and live entertainment throughout the Games.
In a first for Team Wales, the accommodation at YOTEL Glasgow will also become an integrated part of the team’s Games presence – offering a central location for key operations, hospitality, and the Welsh community to base themselves during the Games.
CEO of Commonwealth Games Wales, Rebecca Edwards-Symmons said of the announcement:
“We’re incredibly excited to bring Team Wales House to VEGA at YOTEL Glasgow for the 2026 Games.
This will be a dynamic and welcoming space where we can celebrate every moment – not only of sporting success, but of Welsh culture, unity, and pride. It will truly be a home away from home for Team Wales and we will be hosting a calendar of events over the Games period for everyone to enjoy and be part of.”
Team Wales House will play a vital role in creating an unforgettable Games-time experience for supporters, stakeholders, and partners – offering a lively programme of events and a strong Welsh presence at the heart of Glasgow 2026. The hub will also be a central location for Welsh media activities.
Neil Taylor, General Manager, YOTEL Glasgow, adds:
“We’re thrilled to be chosen as the venue for Team Wales House during the 2026 Commonwealth Games. It will be an exciting moment for the city, and we’re proud to play a significant part by being the official home of Welsh celebrations.
Our super central location, city-wide views, sleek modern rooms and brilliant food and drink menus will make VEGA and YOTEL Glasgow the ideal hub for Welsh fans throughout the Games. We’ll have a lively programme of events and activations for everyone to enjoy as well as spaces to cheer on Welsh athletes and watch the sporting action. We look forward to creating a vibrant atmosphere of Welsh pride and support at the heart of the Games.”
