CGW set for smooth travel to Glasgow 2026 with support from Edwards Coaches and The Travel Business.
Commonwealth Games Wales is proud to announce Edwards Coaches as its Official Travel Partner for the upcoming Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which take place from 23rd July to 2nd August 2026.
The partnership will see Edwards Coaches take the lead as the primary transport provider, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient travel for the Team Wales delegation — including athletes, support staff, and officials — as they travel to Scotland for the 23rd Commonwealth Games.
In a collaborative effort, The Travel Business, based in Newport, will also be working closely with Edwards Coaches and CGW, wrapping around the delivery to help ensure that all aspects of travel logistics are covered. Together, both partners will provide an integrated and seamless transport operation to support Team Wales throughout the Games period.
Rebecca Edwards-Symmons, CEO of Commonwealth Games Wales, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Edwards Coaches as our Official Travel Partner. With their outstanding reputation for service and experience in managing large-scale operations, we are confident our athletes and team will be in the safest hands. The added support from The Travel Business ensures we have a truly all-Wales effort behind the scenes, helping our team arrive in Glasgow prepared, focused, and ready to compete.”
Simon Ingham, Commercial Manager at Edwards Coaches, said:
“It’s an honour to play a part in Team Wales’s journey to Glasgow 2026. Transport is such a key component of any major event, and we’re proud to be trusted with this responsibility. We have a rich history of team and corporate travel over our centenary of operations. The team will be travelling in safety and comfort on our state-of-the-art vehicles.”
