Julie Thomas
Julie used to be a teacher before she lost her sight in 2008. She began playing competitive bowls in 2014 following a taster session and became Welsh Champion two months later. Despite being classified as blind para-athlete Julie also plays play sighted bowls at County level and in Welsh competitions. Julie was crowned the Womenspire Champion of Champions in 2019. A National Award showcasing the achievements of extraordinary women. Julie also has a Guide dog called Yoko, a German Shepherd, Retriever cross who is three years old.
