1. Nominate a School Lead

Appoint a teacher or staff member to be the point person for this competition. The School Lead will help promote the contest, coordinate student participation, and submit entries by the deadline.

  1. Encourage Pupils to Take Part

Consider announcing the competition in a school assembly or making it part of a homework assignment. Students can work on their designs at school or at home.

*Parents and guardians can also submit designs directly from home.

  1. Submit Entries

Deadline: All entries must be submitted via email by Monday, 25th November 2024, at 5PM. Submit the entries to: schools@teamwales.cymru

*You will receive confirmation and updates on the competition outcome.

Format

  • Use white A4 paper (preferably landscape orientation).
  • All designs should be in colour using materials like coloured pencils, paint, crayons, or felt tips.

OR

  • Designs can also be made digitally.
  • Submit the entry as a JPEG or PNG file (maximum size: 20MB).
  • You may scan or take a clear photo of the completed artwork.

The winning design will become Team Wales’s official Christmas card.
The winning student will receive:

  • Team Wales goodie bag.
  • Copies of the card to share with family and friends.

Commonwealth Games Wales is the organisation responsible for selecting, preparing and leading Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Youth Games. The Games are a multi-national, multi-sport event which is inclusive of athletes and para-athletes, the only large multi-sport event to have para sport integrated into the sport schedule.

Team Wales have competed in every games since it first launched in 1930, then known as the Empire Games. Wales are only one of 6 countries to have competed in every games (alongside Canada, Scotland, New Zealand, England and Australia).

The next games are in Glasgow 2026 – There are 10 sports included in the sports programme: Athletics and Para Athletics, Swimming and Para Swimming, 3x 3 Basketball and 3 x 3 Wheelchair Basketball, Boxing, Track Cycling and Para Track Cycling, Artistic Gymnastics, Judo, Bowls and Para Bowls, Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting, and Netball.
