Team Wales House location announced!

We are excited to announce that Edgbaston Park Hotel will be the Team Wales House for #B2022

Commonwealth Games Wales is pleased to announce that Edgbaston Park Hotel, part of the University of Birmingham group, will become the Team Wales House for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The house will be home to Team Wales athletes and support staff, as well as providing a Welsh hub for our supporters to relax, engage, and watch the athletes in action. The venue will also host our Team Wales media hub, bringing athletes into the Welsh ‘home’ for TV, radio, podcast, and digital content.

Team Wales House will be easily accessible by foot, private or public transport, and central to several key venues. These include the University of Birmingham, the chosen venue for hockey and squash; Arena Birmingham, which will host the artistic and rhythmic competitions; and the newly built Sandwell Aquatics Centre, where diving and swimming will be held.

In the Gold Coast, Kurrawa Surf Club proved a huge success as our Team Wales House and we hope to replicate the same enthusiasm and support this summer, even the warm weather! We also have the luxury of ample grounds around the hotel, which I’m sure will be a welcome luxury during Games time when Birmingham will undoubtedly be very busy with supporters from across the Commonwealth. The team at Edgbaston Park Hotel have been great to work with and we can’t thank them enough for their hospitality and for helping us create what will be a strong Welsh presence in Birmingham.“

Opened in 2018, Edgbaston Park Hotel comprises a contemporary building with 185 bedrooms, 3 serviced apartments, a restaurant, bar, and a variety of meeting facilities, all in a peaceful, leafy location on the University of Birmingham campus.
