Claire Warnes

Claire is Vice Chair of Team Wales and has been a Non-Executive Director since 2016. She is Chair of the Governance and Risk Committee and a member of the Nominations Committee. She was Chair of Selection for Team Wales for the Glasgow 2026 and Birmingham 2022 Games, and an Appeals panel member for the Gold Coast 2018 Games. She is a former Welsh International athlete at 400m.

Claire is an Executive Coach and Public Sector Consultant, with a focus on governance, professional standards, regulation and public policy, and deep subject matter expertise in education and skills, health and care, and sport and inclusion.

Until 2023, Claire was a partner at KPMG where she held senior roles including as UK Head of Education, Skills and Productivity, a member of KPMG’s Ethics Committee and KPMG’s senior sponsor for LGBT+ inclusion.
