We were delighted to welcome our partners to the International Convention Centre on Monday 8 December for the final Business Club Event of 2025. Set against a festive backdrop, the evening focused on The importance of family in business and sport as preparations continue for the Glasgow Games next summer.

The event opened with beautiful Christmas performances from the choir of Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg, setting the tone for an evening of celebration and reflection. Our athlete panel—featuring double Olympian and double Commonwealth medallist Dan Jervis, World, European and Commonwealth champion Dai Greene, Para-powerlifting world Junior silver medallist Evelyn Thomas and three times Commonwealth netballer Bethan Dyke—sharing powerful insights into the role of family support during competition, training and overcoming challenges in their respective sports.

The second panel welcomed Carys and Ken Owens of Whisper Cymru, who spoke candidly about running a business, balancing family life, and overcoming challenges with the support of loved ones. Their discussion offered a heartfelt reminder of the importance of connection, particularly as we approach the festive season.

Team Wales President Helen Phillips MBE opened the evening with Chef de Mission, Gethin Jones, bringing the evening to a close with reflections on the collective journey towards the Glasgow Games and the crucial role played by family, partners and community in supporting Team Wales.

The evening concluded with a festive performance from Siwan Henderson and Steffan Hughes from Welsh of the West End.

We would like to thank all our speakers, performers and partners for joining us for an inspiring and memorable Business Club Event as we count down to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next summer.
