Jacob Edwards

Jacob began his gymnastics journey at the age of five in Newcastle, where his older brother, Matthew, was training in preparation for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Gymnastics has always been a huge part of his life and family, with both of his parents being former gymnasts who are now coaches.
Throughout his career, Jacob has represented several clubs, including CMIG, City of Birmingham, and now trains at Olympus Gymnastics Club. Among his proudest achievements are winning the Under-16 British All-Around, Floor, and Pommel Horse titles in 2019, representing Great Britain as a junior international, finishing 10th in the All-Around final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, becoming Senior Welsh Champion in 2025, winning silver in the men’s Floor final at the 2025 British Championships, and contributing to success at the 2025 Northern European Championships.
At school, Jacob’s favourite and strongest subjects were Mathematics and Physical Education. He later graduated from university with a degree in Sports Journalism, a field he remains passionate about. Jacob currently works as the North Wales Development Officer for Welsh Gymnastics and also serves as a coach and one of the gym managers at Olympus Gymnastics Club.
Representing Wales is both a privilege and an honour. The Commonwealth Games represents the pinnacle of Welsh sport, and the opportunity to compete for a place on the national team is something he never takes for granted.
