Frances Stone

Frances (Frank)’s gymnastics journey began in a preschool class at the age of three, and from that point she never looked back. When she started school, Frank moved straight into a squad and quickly developed a passion for the sport. She trained at Derby City Gymnastics Club until the age of seven or eight before moving to Derbyshire Gymnastics Academy (formerly Amber Valley), where she has trained ever since.
Frank describes gymnastics as a rollercoaster journey but believes the highs have always outweighed the lows. Strong performances at competitions make her proud of the hard work and dedication she has shown over the years, particularly while overcoming the challenges of injuries. Some of her proudest achievements to date include being selected for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, delivering an excellent performance at the Welsh Championships, being selected to compete in the all-around for the senior European Championships team, being reselected to the Great Britain Senior Squad, and winning three medals at the British Championships. She believes her positive attitude towards the sport, combined with the support of those around her, has played an important role in her development.
Her favourite apparatus is the balance beam, as it is the event on which she feels most confident and enjoys competing the most. Outside of gymnastics, her favourite subject at school was Biology, which she enjoyed because of her interest in learning about the human body and how it works.
