Emily has been a member of Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club since the age of four and has now been involved in the sport for 16 years. As a young gymnast, gymnastics did not come naturally to Emily, and she found the uneven bars particularly challenging. After progressing through the National Grades programme and passing the Challenge competition as an Espoir, Emily qualified for her first British Championships in 2017. In 2023, she was selected for the Great Britain Senior Development Squad for the first time.
In 2024, she injured her knees while competing at the Varna World Challenge Cup, shortly before being selected as the travelling reserve for the Paris Olympic Games. Later that year, she made her international debut for Wales at the Leverkusen Cup and the Northern European Championships, both of which were successful experiences that she greatly enjoyed. In 2025, Emily competed at her first major international event, the European Championships, where Wales finished sixth in the team competition, and she was the reserve for the floor final.
Her favourite apparatus is the uneven bars, as she enjoys learning new skills and connections and loves the feeling of swinging through the routine. Her favourite element is a Jaeger release on bars. She is studying Sport and Exercise Science at university and particularly enjoys learning about human movement and how it relates to gymnastics.
