Dan Salmon is arguably Wales’s most decorated active bowler and one of the standout performers in Commonwealth Games bowls history. Born in Cardiff in 1994, Dan made his first indoor international appearance aged just 15, becoming the youngest person ever to represent Wales indoors.
He reached a career high ranking of world number 8 in August 2024 and has won back-to-back Commonwealth Games gold medals in the men’s pairs — at the 2018 Gold Coast Games partnering Marc Wyatt, and at the 2022 Birmingham Games partnering Jarrad Breen. In doing so, he equalled the record for Commonwealth Games gold medals won by any Welsh lawn bowler, matching his then-team manager Robert Weale. He has also won the World Singles Champion of Champions title and multiple Welsh national titles. Dan will compete in the Pairs in Glasgow, where he will be looking to add to his extraordinary Games record.
