Amy Williams

Amy Williams is one of the most experienced and accomplished women’s bowlers Wales has produced. Born in 1993, Amy started playing bowls at the age of 11 and was selected for the Wales Under 25 Team at just 14, before earning her senior Wales cap at 16 — the youngest person ever to have been selected for the team at that time. A member of Newport IBC, she has captained the Welsh senior indoor team and is a regular fixture in the international programme.
She reached a career high ranking of world number 20 in June 2024, won the Welsh National indoor title in 2022, 2025 and 2026 — which qualified her to represent Wales at the World Bowls Indoor Championships achieving singles bronze medals in 2022 and 2023 — and is a two-time winner of the under-25 title at British and World level in the BIIBC and IIBC Championships respectively. Amy will compete in both the Singles and Pairs at Glasgow 2026.
