Abigail Roper

Abbie first started gymnastics at the age of four at Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club. She has been involved in gymnastics for 16 years and has remained at her home club throughout her entire journey. She progressed through the Regional and National grades before qualifying for the British Championships in 2021. In 2022, Abbie decided to embrace her Welsh heritage and began competing for Wales, which opened up many exciting opportunities. She represented Wales at the 2022 and 2023 Northern European Championships, where the team became champions. In 2024, she was selected for the Great Britain squad and competed at her first World Challenge Cup in Hungary. Since then, Abbie has also competed at the Koper World Challenge Cup, where she won bronze medals on both vault and floor.
Her favourite apparatus is floor, as she enjoys challenging herself with powerful tumbling passes. Abbie’s favourite skill is a Geinger on the uneven bars.
She is currently studying Sport and Exercise Science at university and enjoys learning about the human body, finding it both fascinating and rewarding.
