The four-year partnership between Team Wales and the Royal Mint Experience will see the visitor attraction become the official location for Team Wales’ home coming medal presentation. The Royal Mint Experience will support Team Wales as an official partner through various initiatives, such as becoming an official retailer for Team Wales merchandise and being the home for a selection of Team Wales events.

The Royal Mint will also become the official producer of the commemorative Team Wales Commonwealth and Youth Games Commonwealth medallions.

Paul Brandwood, Business Development Manager from The Royal Mint Experience said, “As The Royal Mint’s visitor attraction welcoming thousands of people through our doors each year, we are delighted that the Royal Mint Experience is now an official partner of Team Wales. Over the years The Royal Mint has had the honour of producing the commemorative commonwealth medallions for Team Wales and we’re proud to offer additional support through various activities by becoming a partner.”

Commonwealth Games Wales CEO, Rebecca Edwards-Symmons added ‘The Royal Mint and The Royal Mint Experience have worked with Team Wales over several Games, but to now enter a long-term partnership to evolve the opportunities for both business is fantastic.’

The Royal Mint Experience offers a unique opportunity for visitors to go ‘behind the scenes’ to see the craftsmanship involved in making the nation’s coinage, followed by an interactive exhibition exploring 1,100 years of The Royal Mint’s history, as well as offering visitors the chance to strike their own official UK coin.

Commonwealth Games Wales and The Royal Mint have worked together over several Games, producing a participation medal for Team Wales athletes and support staff at the Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Youth Games.
