Matthew Rotherham is a track cyclist and Paralympic tandem pilot, competing in sprint events for the Great Britain Cycling Team.
After beginning his career as an elite able-bodied track cyclist, Matthew transitioned into Paralympic tandem racing as a sighted pilot in the visually impaired classification. His success in the discipline has established him as one of the leading tandem pilots in international track cycling.
Matthew achieved Paralympic gold at Tokyo 2020, piloting Neil Fachie to victory in the Tandem B 1km Time Trial, before adding Paralympic silver at Paris 2024 in the same event.
At the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Matthew represented Wales, piloting James Ball to gold in the Tandem B Sprint and silver in the Tandem B 1km Time Trial.
