Lewis Oliva

Lewis Oliva is a Welsh track sprint cyclist from Devauden in Monmouthshire, specialising in the Keirin and Sprint.
He was part of the British Cycling Academy Sprint Programme and later joined Team SWI Welsh Cycling, with his Welsh Cycling pathway helping support his ambition to represent Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games.
Lewis went on to represent Wales at three Commonwealth Games: Delhi 2010, Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018. His standout Commonwealth Games moment came at Gold Coast 2018, where he won silver for Wales in the Men’s Keirin.
Alongside his Commonwealth Games success, Lewis also won European Championship bronze in the Men’s Team Sprint in 2012, multiple World Cup medals and British national titles, including back-to-back Keirin titles in 2017 and 2018.
Commonwealth Games experience
Lewis is a three-time Commonwealth Games athlete, having represented Wales at Delhi 2010, Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018.
At Gold Coast 2018, he won silver in the Men’s Keirin, delivering one of Wales’ track cycling medals of the Games. He also competed in the Men’s Sprint at the same Games.
The Gold Coast Games came while Lewis was balancing elite cycling with studying medicine at Cardiff University.
