Ciara Oliva

Ciara Oliva is a Welsh endurance cyclist who has been part of the Welsh cycling set-up since 2012, competing across both track and road.
Ciara represented Wales at the Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, with the Games holding some of her fondest memories from international racing.
She was part of the Great Britain women’s Team Pursuit squad at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, selected as reserve as the team went on to win Olympic gold. Alongside her track success, she also competed professionally on the road with teams including Cervélo-Bigla Pro Cycling Team.
After retiring following the Gold Coast Games, Ciara built a career as a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor before returning to competitive cycling as a mum of three.
Ciara’s career highlights include being part of the Great Britain Women’s Team Pursuit squad at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and winning World Championship medals both on the track in the Team Pursuit and on the road in the Team Time Trial.
She has also won European and World Cup titles in the Team Pursuit, held a former British Team Pursuit record and won European and national medals in the Individual Pursuit.
One of the biggest challenges of her career was the heartache of being reserve in Rio, but her return to cycling after retirement and motherhood reflects her continued drive to chase her sporting ambition
