The Carmarthen-born Olympic champion was selected as Team Wales’ Closing Ceremony flag bearer after completing a remarkable four-gold-medal haul at Glasgow 2026.

Finucane added her fourth gold medal to her collection today in the women’s keirin, bringing an unforgettable Games to a spectacular conclusion.

Her four gold medals have come in the team sprint, sprint, time trial and keirin, with her performances helping Wales enjoy a hugely successful Games on the track.

Now, she will have the honour of leading Team Wales into the Closing Ceremony and carrying the Welsh flag as the Games come to an end.

Finucane’s success has been one of the defining stories of Glasgow 2026, with the 23-year-old producing a series of outstanding performances in front of a passionate Welsh and Commonwealth crowd.

Her individual sprint gold on Friday came with a new Commonwealth Games record of 10.322 seconds, while she was also part of the Welsh team sprint trio alongside Rhian Edmunds and Lowri Thomas that smashed the Games record to claim gold.

Now, after four gold medals and an unforgettable week in Glasgow, Finucane will lead her fellow Welsh athletes into the final ceremony of the Games.
