As preparations continue for #B2022, there’s been plenty going on behind the scenes to support our athletes in the build-up and during the Games.

Team Wales confirms the latest medical appointments who will work under the guidance of Performance Service Team Manager, Cath Shearer and Chief Medical Officer Dr Katy Guy as part of the Team Wales central HQ team. The confirmed new appointments are as follows:

Doctors

Nick Roach
Kate Edwards
Craig Dyson

 Physiotherapists

Sian Knott
Osian Merfyn
Katy Williams

Soft Tissue Therapists

Dave Rowe
Ashleigh Griffiths
Sheree Phelps

Cath Shearer, Performance General Team Manager who led on the recruitment for the medical team said:

“It was really important for us to get the right people on board for these roles. Not only is it vital to have the skills and experience in their field, but due to the nature of the event, it can be extremely busy and intense and it’s vital to have a team that can support one another as well as work independently over long hours.

“It’s a really exciting opportunity to gain hands on experience at a multi-sport event as big as the Commonwealth Games, and it’s great to have some familiar faces back with us. Their Games experience will be invaluable and we can’t wait to get started.”
