Team wales appoints chef de mission for youth games

Nicola Phillips has been named Team Wales Chef de Mission for the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa.

Nicola will lead Team Wales at the major sporting event in Samoa this coming September, taking with her a wealth of Commonwealth Games experience having worked with Team Wales in both team member and leadership roles in over eight Games, including being the Deputy Chef de Mission for the recent record-breaking Team Wales in Glasgow 2014. She has also had other multi-sports experience having been a physio at 3 Olympic Games, as well as 2 Pre-Olympic preparation camps.

Nicola is on the Commonwealth Games board, and is also President of the International Federation of Sports Physiotherapy. “I am honoured to have been selected as Chef De Mission for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa. The Youth Games are a fantastic opportunity for young developing athletes to experience a multi-sport Games at an early stage in their sporting careers and some of our currently successful senior athletes came through his system.  So I am looking forward to working with this enthusiastic team of athletes and officials over the coming months as we prepare for September 2015.”
