Anwen Butten
Anwen has played lawn bowls since she was 13 years old at Lampeter Bowling Club in Ceredigion. Married to Tim with two children Alis and Hari who have both have represented Wales at lawn bowls. Outside of lawn bowls, Anwen work as Head and Neck Cancer Specialist Nurse for Hywel Dda University Health Board. At this her sixth Commonwealth Games she will be team Wales captain.

Have represented Wales at Junior and Senior level since 1988
Represented Wales at Elite level since 2002
Competed in Hong Kong open competitions winning silver and bronze medals
Competed at 4 World Bowls Championship ( winning medals each time) Last World bowls championship won Silver medal in Triples in New Zealand 2016. Wales women finished second in the world champs overall
Competed at 5 Atlantic Championships winning medals each time including gold in 2019
Won Bronze in Manchester 2002 and Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games
