Borobi visits Wales
Borobi, the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games mascot is visiting Wales tomorrow ahead of the launch of the Queen’s Baton Relay next week (13 March).
He will be visiting the capital and surrounding areas, bringing his unique dance and cheerful persona to inspire Team Wales supporters ahead of next year’s Games.
Itinerary:
10-11am – Ysgol Gyfun Cymer Rhondda, Porth
Joined by Commonwealth Games Wales Chair, Helen Phillips and Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams AM, Borobi will be teaching the children his dance and will be serenaded by the school choir.
12-12.30pm – Principality Stadium
Borobi will have an exclusive behind the scenes look around the Stadium ahead of the Wales v Ireland match later in the day.
2-3pm – Barry Island Promenade
Local primary schools will meet Borobi on the prom where he will teach them his signature dance. Welsh Rugby 7s Gold Coast hopeful Sian Williams will also be coming along to give Borobi some top rugby tips. Borobi will end his tour of Wales with Bro Morgannwg Primary School children singing traditional Welsh songs.
