Tanni Grey-Thompson guest speaker at Team Wales Business Club

The third Team Wales Business Club, and the first of 2024 took the event to the Celtic Manor Golf Club, with Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson talking all things sport and politics. Tanni, one of the worlds greatest Paralympians, who has won 16 paralympic medals over 5 games spoke about her career highs, her introduction into sport, and the challenges she has faced and campaigned for to ensure everyone has equality; in sport, in the work place and in everyday life.

Tanni, who is also Chair of Sport Wales was later joined on stage by Sport Wales’ CEO, Brian Davies; giving an insight into running Sport Wales and its objectives.

Team Wales’ Head of Engagement Cathy Williams hosted the event alongside Sumaya Khan, Engagement Assistant. CEO Rebecca Edwards-Symmons opened the evening, and Chair Gareth Davies closed the event, with singer Mal Pope entertaining the guests.

It was really interesting to hear from her and Brian on the set up of Sport Wales too – giving our guests a real perspective of what the organisation is really about’.
