Lawn Bowls
Lawn Bowls is one of the core sports on the Commonwealth Games programme. This means it has been played at every Games since 1930, with the exception of Kingston in 1966. The sport remains one of Wales’ most successful disciplines since its introduction in 1930, garnering a total 28 medals including Para Lawn Bowls. The first gold-winning moments came in 1986 when both the men’s and women’s fours bowled to victory. 2018 saw a clean sweep of the podium, with Gold in the men’s pairs (Daniel Salmon & Marc Wyatt), silver in the women’s singles (Laura Daniels) and bronze in mixed para-sport pairs (Julie Thomas & Gilbert Miles).
