Judo
Birmingham 2022 will be the fourth time Judo has been contested, after being excluded in the 2018 Gold Coast programme, but has now been reinstated as a core sport. The discipline was first introduced in Auckland 1990 with Wales bringing home five medals that year. Over the span of 32 years, the nation has earned a total of 13 medals in Judo. The first gold in the sport came in Glasgow where Natalie Powell fought for victory in the 78kg category. Powell will return this year, in a strong team of six athletes.
