Luke Hawker
Luke began his hockey on a Sunday morning at Westlands Sport Centre, Yeovil. Starting as an U10 and progressing through Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club he represented his club, county and region.
In 2009 Luke joined Cardiff Metropolitan University, played for Cardiff & Met Hockey Club, and became a representative of Wales when making his debut v Poland in 2012.
Since, Luke has represented Cardiff & Met HC in the domestic English National League, Hockey Wales Championships and European Championships. Highlights include 3 x EuroHockey Leagues, 3 x Eurohockey Club Championship Challenge titles and numerous Hockey Wales Championship indoor and outdoor titles. Major tournaments for Wales include World League, Hockey Series, European Championships and Commonwealth Games. Alongside his playing career, Luke is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Coaching at Cardiff Metropolitan University, a coach educator, assessor and a practicing coach at Cardiff & Met HC.
