Gareth Furlong
The experienced defender began his career at Cambridge Nomads following in the steps of his dad before moving to Harleston Magpies as a 17 year old. He Joined Sheffield Hallam HC whilst studying Sport Science at University, where Gareth made his English Premier League debut and won the BUCS National title in 2013. Gareth went on to play in the English Premier League for Surbiton, winning the Premier League title in both the 17/18 and 18/19 seasons. Having moved to the Netherlands to play for Dutch Hoofdklasse side HC Tilburg, Gareth moved to Cardiff & Met whilst completing his Masters before returning to HC Tilburg for the 20/21 season. Upon returning to the UK Gareth began working as an account manager for a London based teamwear specialist and returned to former club Surbiton, where he was part of the side finishing third at the 2022 EHL Finals. Since making his Senior debut in 2010 against USA, he has gone on to represent the Dragons at 10 major tournaments, including two Commonwealth Games and four European Championships, scoring 75 times.
