After graduating from the University of Strathclyde with a degree in Technology and Business Studies, Wendy joined SSE as a graduate trainee in 1989. She worked through a variety of marketing, finance and commercial roles, before moving on in 2007 to become Head of Marketing. She has also managed and carried out many significant M&A initiatives and ran SSE’s Retail Telecoms business for a number of years. In April 2013, Wendy became Director of Commonwealth Games and Sponsorship and was responsible for the successful delivery of SSE’s CWG2014 programme and led the contractual and delivery negotiations for the SSE Hydro/Arena property along with various other sponsorship assets.
