Triathlon

Triathlon will make its third successive Commonwealth Games appearance at Birmingham 2022. After debuting at Manchester 2002, it remained on the programme at Melbourne 2006, but did not make another appearance until Glasgow 2014. Para Triathlon made its Games debut at Gold Coast 2018. 2013 ITU World Triathlon Champion Non Stanford was Team Wales Captain at the 2018 Gold Coast Games and will return for her third games in Birmingham. The only Welsh medal in the sport came in Manchester 2002, as Leanda Cave won silver in the women’s individual. Birmingham 2022 will also be a history-making games for para-athlete Rhys Jones as he becomes Wales’ first para-triathlete at the games alongside his guide Rhys James.
