Helen Phillips MBE, Chair of Commonwealth Games Wales said:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all the Royal Family at this very sad time with the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth. As Head of the Commonwealth, and our longest serving monarch, we feel privileged to have been led by such an inspirational woman. The Commonwealth Games was close to her heart, a true manifestation of her passion to unite us globally. She will be sorely missed by us all.”

Chris Jenkins, CEO of Commonwealth Games Wales said:

It is very sad to hear the sad news of HM. Queen Elizabeth II. She not only led the Country with such dignity, but she was instrumental in the shaping of the Commonwealth, seeing the Commonwealth as a family, a force for good and it was always dear to her heart. I feel that Queen Elizabeth would see the Commonwealth as her enduring legacy.
