From the 4th to 9th September 2017, Wales hosted the Queen's Baton which travelled over 350 miles of Welsh land covering South, Mid and North Wales. The Baton spent two days in South Wales, one day in Mid Wales and one day in North Wales.
The route was the largest relay to date in Wales and it incorporated mythical legendary locations as part of Visit Wales' Year of the Legends Campaign, enhancing and showcasing the rich history and heritage that Wales has to offer.
Our vision was to stage a great Queen's Baton Relay, embrace the Commonwealth's diversity, ignite community pride, excite the Commonwealth about the GC2018 and encourage support for the annual Commonwealth theme. Our mission was to deliver a Queen's Baton Relay that was accessible to all members of the Commonwealth and which promoted and celebrated the long-lasting benefits and values of the Commonwealth Games.
